1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how SPoT Easy Rental Solution (“SPoT”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use the SPoT mobile application. By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
a. Mandatory Personal Information
- Name (via Google Sign-In)
- Email address (via Google Sign-In)
- Phone number (mandatory for account identification)
b. Optional Identity & Vehicle Documents
Users may optionally upload documents such as Aadhaar Card, Driving License, and Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC). These documents are not mandatory, are not verified by SPoT, and are uploaded voluntarily by users. SPoT does not perform KYC or government verification.
c. User-Generated Content
- Property, shop, PG, or car listing details
- Listing images
- In-app messages between users
d. Device & Usage Data
- App usage, interaction, and performance data (including ad impressions and taps)
- Crash logs and diagnostic data
- Device and OS information (model and version) collected via Firebase
- Advertising ID or other device identifiers used for ads and measurement
- IP address (general location) and approximate location, if used for ads
3. How We Use Information
- To create and manage user accounts
- To enable listings and in-app communication
- To improve app performance and reliability
- To diagnose crashes and technical issues
- To serve and measure ads, including frequency capping, analytics, fraud prevention, and debugging
- To comply with legal obligations if required
4. Data Storage & Third-Party Services
SPoT uses trusted third-party services including Google Sign-In (authentication), Firebase (analytics, crash reporting, backend services), Supabase (storage of property and vehicle images), and Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) for advertising.
We do not sell personal information. We may share limited data with Google/AdMob to serve and measure ads, improve ad quality, and prevent fraud or abuse.
Third-Party Services: Google Sign-In, Firebase, Supabase, and the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob). See the Google Privacy Policy and "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services."
5. Advertising (Google AdMob)
SPoT displays third-party advertisements using Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads). Ads may be personalized or non-personalized depending on your settings and region.
AdMob and our app may collect and use information such as:
- Advertising ID and other device identifiers
- Device information (model, OS version) and IP address (general location)
- App interaction and performance data (including ad impressions, clicks, and errors)
- Approximate location, if used for ad serving or measurement
- Diagnostic data and signals used for fraud prevention
We use this data to serve ads, apply frequency capping, measure performance and analytics, prevent fraud, and debug ad delivery.
We share limited data with Google as our advertising provider for these purposes. We do not sell personal information.
You can control ad personalization by resetting or limiting your device's Advertising ID, opting out of ad personalization where available, and adjusting Google ad settings where available.
6. Data Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect user data. However, no digital system is completely secure.
Safety, Report & Block (Abuse Prevention)
SPoT includes features that allow users to report or block other users and/or content to help maintain a safe platform.
Report
Users can report listings or in-app messages that may violate platform rules (e.g., spam, harassment, fraudulent listings, illegal content, impersonation). When a report is submitted, we may collect and review:
- The reported content (listing details or message content)
- The reported user account identifiers (such as phone number and/or account ID)
- Metadata needed to investigate (timestamps, content IDs)
Reports are reviewed by our team within a reasonable timeframe. Based on the review, we may take actions including content removal, temporary restrictions, or account suspension.
Block
Users can block other users to stop further in-app communication. Blocking prevents the blocked user from messaging the blocker through the app.
Enforcement
We may take enforcement actions to protect users and the platform, including:
- Removing content that violates rules
- Warning users
- Temporarily restricting accounts
- Permanently suspending accounts for repeated or severe violations
SPoT does not guarantee specific outcomes for every report, but we take reasonable steps to review and act on reported abuse.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
Personal data is retained only as long as necessary for app functionality or legal compliance. Users may delete listings, uploaded documents, or request account deletion by contacting support. Data will be removed within a reasonable timeframe.
8. Children's Privacy
SPoT is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. No Payments or Bookings
SPoT does not process payments, bookings, or financial transactions. All rental discussions occur directly between users.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the app signifies acceptance of the updated policy.
